Saint Mary's overcame a seven-point halftime deficit to upend Brigham Young, 70-69, on Wednesday at the Marriott Center. The game went back-and-forth in the closing minutes as each team traded baskets. With 1:48 to play, Matt Dellavedova of Saint Mary's sunk a free throw to tie the game at 65. BYU's Tyler Haws put the Cougars up with a jumper, but Dellavedova matched the bucket, tying the game again.Haws then drilled another jumper with just over two seconds on the clock to give his team a 69-67 advantage. This proved to be short lived as Dellavedova received the frantic inbound pass and then proceeded to launch a desperation shot just inside the half-court line. The ball splashes home and the Gaels knock off BYU at home.The Cougars faithful are stunned as both squads are left with a 14-5 season record. Dellavedova finished with 18 points and eight assists.
