The Last Angry Fan:
The UConn Huskies opened their college basketball season Friday night against Columbia, winning the contest 70-57. Jeremy Lamb led the way for Jim Calhoun’s UConn squad with a career-high 30 points, the most ferocious of which was this posterizing dunk on a poor Lions defender who mistakenly wandered into Lamb’s path.
Somehow I doubt this will be the last time Lamb posterizes an opposing player this season. Heck, with his talent this may become part of his nightly routine.
Video of Lamb’s monster baseline slam follows the jump…
I think Bill Rafferty summed it up best when he exclaimed, “**** that baby!” Now let us all take a moment to pray for that Columbia player and his shattered confidence.

The UConn Huskies may have lost Kemba Walker, but having returned Jeremy Lamb will keep them in the championship hunt. Lamb is a preseason All-American and is one of the most athletic players in the country. He can step up and knock down the three with ease or slash to the basket and finish near [...]
Yea Yea it's the first game of the year, but wait until you see this dunk. Jeremy Lamb flies over the Columbia defender for a huge one handed jam. Not sure I saw a dunk this nice all of last year. He might have just stole the title for the year on the first day of games. He is also a huge threat to get player of the year in the NCAA. He dropped a career high 30 points...
In last years run to the national championship UConn’s Jeremy Lamb emerged as a star. Yes, Kemba Walker, was their best player but without Lamb they don’t even come close to cutting down the nets in April.
This year the Huskies are Jeremy Lamb’s team. On Friday the Huskies opened the season by besting Columbia. Lamb was by far the best player on the court scoring...

As some of the top 25 teams in college basketball were in action last night, the University of Connecticut got raise their 2011 Championship banner.
During the game against Columbia, UConn's Jeremy Lamb gave us the early dunk of the year candidate as he posterized a hopeless Columbia defender:
If you’ve yet to, you’ll want to familiarize yourself with UConn sophomore Jeremy Lamb, and you’ll want to do it quickly. The Connecticut swingman made a hell of a splash tonight, completing this insane dunk that led to his name both trending on Twitter and buzzing amongst NCAA hoops fans.
The defending champion UCONN Huskies may have struggled in their season opener against Columbia University but one player was in mid-season form. Jeremy Lamb, one of the tournament stars of 2011, was simply dominant going 11 for 17 (5 for 8 from downtown) for 30 points while getting four steals, three rebounds and two assists. The numbers were downright impressive but what you’ll...
Even though Connecticut is a mere one game into the 2011-12 season, Jeremy Lamb may already have produced his most memorable dunk of the year.
The 6-foot-5 sophomore blew by Columbia's Noah Springwater, drove baseline and then soared over a late-rotating Mark Cisco for powerful one-handed jam. The result was enough to entice a big grin about of the normally sleepy-eyed, expressionless...
It wasn't the brow beating you expected to see from the UConn Huskies men's basketball team in their opener against the Columbia Lions. In fact, it might have been closer than Jim Calhoun would have liked.
But when you have a special player like Jeremy Lamb, just like with Kemba Walker last season, you don't have to worry as much as Lamb led the way with a career-high...
STORRS, Conn. (AP) Jeremy Lamb scored a career-high 30 points and No. 4 Connecticut began defense of its national championship
with a 70-57 victory over Columbia on Friday night.
Defending champions and 4th ranked Connecticut got their season off to a good start with a 70-57 win at home tonight over Columbia. Shabazz Napier and preseason All-American Jeremy Lamb led the way for the Huskies and were the only two UConn players to score in double digits. Napier had 20 points, 5 rebounds, [...]
One of the biggest questions for defending national champion Connecticut coming into this season was who would fill the scoring and leadership voids left by the departure of Kemba Walker.
Jeremy Lamb and Shabazz Napier had an early answer to that question on Friday night.
Lamb scored a career-high 30 points, and Napier added 21 as No. 4 Connecticut began defense of its national...
