KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Andrew Wiggins' teammates at Kansas would have every reason to be jealous of him, jealous of his talent and more than anything, jealous of all the media attention showered upon him. If you're a Kansas Jayhawk, you probably can't go anywhere without someone asking you what it's like to be playing with Wiggins, college basketball's No. 1 recruit. And it got so bad Tuesday during Big 12 media day at Sprint Center, a young reporter actually asked Jayhawks senior forward Tarik Black what it was like to be Andrew Wiggins and receive all that hype. Yep, the reporter mistook Black for Wiggins. Black, though, to his credit, didn't seem insulted and simply rolled with it. "Well, I'm not Andrew but I'm sure he'll be out here answering questions soon," Black said, smiling. It's possible that Wiggins' Jayhawks teammates already are used to being in the back seat, even though Kansas hasn't even played a game yet. E...

KU's Andrew Wiggins takes center stage at Big 12 media day

The chair was empty its prodigious owner a few minutes late but the questions kept coming for Andrew Wiggins. It was early on Tuesday afternoon at the Sprint Center the final hour of Big 12 basketball media day and a reporter had wedged into a pack surrounding Kansas players Tarik Black Naadir Tharpe and Perry Ellis. A fourth chair reserved for Wiggins KU’s much-heralded freshman...

Photo: Kansas Freshman Andrew Wiggins’ Necktie Game Is Atrocious

From what we’ve heard, Kansas freshman Andrew Wiggins has some serious skills on the basketball court. The same cannot be said about his necktie game. The below photo, tweeted out by ESPN’s Chris Farrow (and alerted to us by Jackson Clarion-Ledger‘s Hugh Kellenberger), demonstrates that quite well. Sometime before June Andrew Wiggins’ tie game needs a correction. RT @chrisjfarrow...

Photos: Andrew Wiggins featured in GQ magazine

Andrew Wiggins has yet to play a second of college basketball, but the Kansas freshman continues to get the attention of an NBA star already. Wiggins was recently interviewed by GQ Magazine, where he said that he can’t yet be mentioned in the same sentence as Lebron James and compared his game to Kevin Durant’s. “Aw, it’s not fair to even say my name in the same sentence...

Andrew Wiggins: It's unfair to compare him to LeBron and Durant

All eyes were on freshman phenom Andrew Wiggins at the 2013 Big 12 Men’s Basketball Media Day that took place at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, MO yesterday. This comes as no surprise seeing as the 18-year-old Ontario native is the number one recruit for the class of 2013. With all the hype surrounding him one has to wonder will he be able to live up to it? With comparisons...

Oklahoma State's Smart doesn't hate Andrew Wiggins -- he just hates the Wiggins hype

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Hate Marcus Smart? How can you hate Marcus Smart? The man is poetry, in an Ochocinco sort of way. On one side, Oklahoma State's star point guard has the word "Cowboys" shaved into his head. On the other side, it says, "Wiggins sucks." OK, so we made the second part up. But even if the thought isn't written on his head, it sure as hell...

Kansas basketball: Ben McLemore Update

Former Kansas basketball star Ben McLemore is playing very well as a rookie in his first preseason campaign. As a Sacramento King, he is showing he was very deserving of the seventh overall pick in the 2013 draft. With the departure of shooting guard Tyreke Evans, McLemore looks to be the player that will take over as the starter. McLemore is certainly doing his best to ensure no...

Andrew Wiggins Says Comparisons to LeBron James and Kevin Durant Unfair

Kansas Jayhawks star Andrew Wiggins is supposed to be the next big thing once he makes the jump to the NBA. Wiggins though is smartly trying to manage the outsize expectations fans and media have. Per ESPN: “Well he hasn’t asked for any of it’ head coach Bill Self said. ‘If you talk to him he’s humble and a lowkey guy that deflects attention as much as anybody I’ve been...

Smart, Cowboys want Wiggins, Jayhawks to prove it

Marcus Smart has a simple message for Andrew Wiggins: Prove it. It's the same message that Smart's veteran teammates from Oklahoma State want to deliver to the young, hungry group of Jayhawks led by the prized freshman this season. ''A lot of people are saying he's the best player now in college basketball,'' Smart said of Wiggins during the Big 12&...
