PLAYERS: Patric Young
TEAMS: Florida Gators
Patric Young’s ankle has done plenty of damage this year. When it was keeping his minutes limited in games, it hurt the Gators in the paint with no strong defensive presence to play opposing big men. With the ankle now completely healed, it still managed to do damage mentally. The mental part of the game was the hardest for Young to overcome, but he showed signs of life Sunday against Kentucky.

Patric Young impresses against UK's Davis

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The Gators entered Sunday's regular-season finale against No. 1-ranked Kentucky fully aware that they had no chance at beating the Wildcats if freshman phenom Anthony Davis made Patric Young seem invisible. As usual, the 6-foot-10 Davis resembled a tree with legs and extra-long branches, scoring a game-high 22 points and adding 12 rebounds and six blocked...

Florida fans given cheat sheets before UK game

Florida distributed these flyers to the Rowdy Reptile section before the game to try and rattle them. Obviously it didn’t work but it was a good try. This was a pretty organized event. No one is playing better basketball than Kentucky right now and Anthony Davis is a monster.

Kentucky’s Anthony Davis, his unibrow, targetted by Florida Gator fans

Kentucky’s Anthony Davis is a phenomenal college player who is on track to accomplish a rare grand slam: “national player of the year, national defensive player of the year, national freshman of the year, and the #1 pick in the NBA Draft. It’s a rare feat. Davis has been incredible, The Chicago native from Charter Perspectives high school has more blocks than 300 teams. He...

Florida Gators fans came up with a chant guide for their game against Kentucky

We all know that college fans can come up with many crazy things but, this was too funny. Apparently, Florida fans came up with a guide of what to chant for situations and for certain players. Here is the guide that I’m talking about:As you can see, Florida fans take these chants very seriously. I have to admit, I did laugh about the Marquis Teague chants.

Video: Boynton Getting Ready for Tournament

Florida Gator junior guard Kenny Boynton spent some time with the media Monday discussing what the gators have to do to get away from their three game losing streak. The SEC tournament is upon them and finishing strong would mean getting a win in game one and pulling off an upset over Kentucky in game two of their tournament run. It won't be easy, but Boynton says it can be done.

No. 1 Gators Get the Sweep

It looked just like it has in recent years. In the key moments of the game, No. 12 Miami crumbled. The Hurricanes’ pitching staff struggled to throw strikes and allowed the Florida offense to maintain hope. The Gators scored five runs in the ninth inning and shut the game down to secure the series sweep with an 8-5 win. It was Florida’s second sweep of Miami in Coral Gables in school history.

Scout Likes Patric Young's Energy Level, Says Bradley Beal Is Florida's Top Draft Prospect

Bradley Beal is likely to be Florida's first one-and-done player since the NBA passed its age-requirement rule.

No. 1 Gators Secure Series over No. 12 Miami

When one team becomes dominant over its rival, games have a tendency to look similar. It was business as usual on Saturday night in Coral Gables for No. 1 Florida. Miami made three critical errors to help the Gators cash in runs, and the Florida offense broke out to put 16 hits on the board. The Gators clinched the road series over No. 12 Miami with a 13-5 win on Saturday night.

Gators Hoping to Keep UK From SEC Perfection

The Gators are all that stand in the way of No. 1 Kentucky running the table through SEC play. The Wildcats come into Sunday’s game with a 29-1 record on the season, losing only on a buzzer beater at Indiana, and 15-0 in conference. Running the table through SEC play hasn’t been done since Kentucky did in 2003. No. 13 Florida has the last chance to keep them from conference perfection...

Preparing for Length

The trouble Florida has experienced from Kentucky in recent years isn’t a coincidence. Besides the obvious talent the Wildcats have added in recent years, the Gators have struggled with long, athletic guards. That’s what happens when the backcourt is undersized. Erving Walker has struggled to get his shots off against the UK because of the Wildcats' aggressive defense.

McGlinchey Could Continue (PA) Connection

The University of Florida has suddenly been hot in their Pennsylvania recruiting and more so the Philadelphia area. Sharrif Floyd a couple of years ago came on board and in the 2012 class Skyler Mornhinweg and Colin Thompson both signed with the Gators. It only makes sense to keep going there and a big one in Mi9ke McGlinchey is one of the latest to give Florida a chance.
