After completing his first year at Ole Miss, Coach Hugh Freeze plans on having a much better season in 2012. 2011 proved to be a disappointing one after only winning two games and losing 10 and going 0-8 in the SEC. Ole Miss hasn’t been to a bowl game since 2009 where they defeated Oklahoma State 21-7. The most positive thing I can say about Ole Miss is that they held opponents to 59.57% touchdown rate in the red zone. Still, they allowed 59 plays of 20 or more yards, 32 plays for 30 or more yards, and only had 13 sacks making them last in all 3 stat columns.
Defense:Key Defensive Returnees include linebacker Mike Marry and safety Charles Sawyer both combing for 151 tackles, 4 interceptions, and 2 sacks.
Key players returning on offense are wide receiver Donte Moncrief and running back Jeff Scott together totaling 31 receptions, 529 rushing yards, and 10 touchdowns.
Looking to bring in some help on defense the Rebels add defensive end Channing Ward, defensive tackle Issac Gross, and cornerback Anthony Standifer. Also, they add bring in some help looking to improve their ground game with running back I’tavius Mathers.
