The High School football will season is coming to its' climax, the playoffs are here. Last year the state was treated to an epic championship game between Skyline and O'Dea. This year Eastside Catholic, Kennedy, and Bellevue are the top teams to watch out for...
Without further adieu, here are my predictions for round 1 of the Washington State Class 3A playoffs:
West Seattle vs. Ferndale-This is the marquee game of the first round. West Seattle has two plays. T.J Lee left and T.J Lee right. If Ferndale can somehow contain the running game of West Seattle then they will have an easy path to victory. This is West Seattle's first time in the playoffs in a long time, I think that an well-tested Ferndale team will come out on top.
Timberline vs. Union- I see no reason why Union, who is undefeated, would lose now. They're just flat out better than Timberline.
Eastside Catholic vs. Mount Si- The Eastside Catholic Crusaders are peaking at the right time. Mount Si won't be able to handle the run game of Marion Bactol and Mike Bush...this could be a blowout.
O'Dea vs. Lakes-This is the 2nd best game of the 1st round, both teams are traditional powerhouses. O'Dea has suffered some sort of a "decline" this year. They didn't win the metro title and LOST a metro regular season game, something that hasn't happened for over 10 years. This just goes to show how high expectations are for the O'Dea Irish. I'm picking Lakes here in a close battle, I don't think the Irish offense will be able to move the ball against Lakes.
Liberty vs. Kennedy- Kennedy has returned to powerhouse status while Liberty has had a pretty decent season as well. Will Liberty be able to stop Tre Watson? That is the question. Probably not. No one has been able to stop Tre Watson, who has seen the end zone on 26 different occasions this season
Lindbergh vs. Bellevue- An easy matchup for Bellevue, expect a blowout. We interviewed Jacob Allie the QB of Lindbergh the other day, check it out here.
Meadowdale vs. Capital- This one looks to be close, but I'm going to take playoff veteran Capital in this matchup.
Mount Spokane vs. East Valley- In the battle of eastern Washington teams, I'm going to flip a coin for this one. Mount Spokane is heads. East Valley is tails. Heads. Mount Spokane wins.

Am I completely wrong on any of these? Let me know...
