Earlier this summer we spoke to in-state 2014 defensive end prospect Connor Sheehy and after taking an unofficial visit to the Badgers for the UNI game he gave his verbal commitment to the Badgers last night.
Since speaking with us earlier this summer Sheehy had picked up an offer from Michigan and was also seeing major interest from the likes of Michigan State and Northwestern.
Last season Sheehy recorded 80 tackles and he becomes the first defensive commit to the 2014 class. Sheehy also becomes the 3rd in-state commit in this class, which now stands at 4 commits total.
Also since then there have been rankings released, so let's break down what Sheehy brings to the table.
247sports is the only major scouting service to have their rankings released for the 2014 class at this time and they have Sheehy rated a three star prospect.
He's also ranked as the 3rd best in the state of Wisconsin and the 13th best WDE by 247sports.

MADISON, Wis. Five months of hype built to a crescendo on Saturday when Danny O'Brien finally took the field for his first quarterback start at the University of Wisconsin. By then, he'd answered only some questions, inevitably outperforming three less experienced signal callers in fall camp to earn the Badgers' starting nod. Still, other questions persisted that wouldn...
After Saturday's narrow victory against Northern Iowa the company line was that this was a good thing and a great learning opportunity for the 2012 Badgers.
The coaches are right, it was a major learning opportunity, but it's one that they should've already learned and here's why:
Wisconsin has a history of not learning lessons from mistakes of the past...
