Everett Golson has been suspended by the University of Notre Dame for the Fall 2013 term due to an academic issue — Golson himself said that he used “poor academic judgment” that got him into trouble. The sad thing is, this was not Golson’s first academic issue with the university — we are hearing from multiple sources that this was not in fact his first offense. According to Notre Dame’s academic handbook, suspensions are only given to repeat violators: There are two crucial parts to the pictures above: - First time punishments can range from a zero on the assignment in question to a failing grade in the course - The standard punishment for a repeated offense is suspension or dismissal from the university Not only has Golson had multiple academic infringements, but he has had team problems well. Against Miami this year, Golson was held out from starting due to showing up late to a team meeting. Further, his leadership abilities were questioned throughout the year (although, by ...

Although ‘disappointed,’ Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly will happily welcome Everett Golson back to South Bend

Admitting to being “disappointed,” Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly spoke Monday about Everett Golson’s departure from South Bend for unspecified academic violations. “I’m on 30 years now in college ball, and it’s like being a dad — you’re disappointed, but you know these things happen, and you want your players to be accountable,” said Kelly, 51, the winner of...

Golson exit latest hit to Irish mojo

Notre Dame's aura is gone again. Just like that. It is amazing how every last thing has gone wrong for Notre Dame football dating back to, roughly, opening kickoff of the BCS title game. Alabama knocked Notre Dame off its axis. But the myth they live by in South Bend, and believe in, is that Irish football is above the dirty fingernails of college football. Do things the right...

Gunner Kiel could transfer back to Notre Dame without much issue

Will The QB Suspension At Notre Dame Give The Sooners An Edge In South Bend?

The high profile game in South Bend this Fall against Notre Dame will be a big indicator on the national prospects for the Sooners.  If they can sneak into South Bend and get a win against the Irish, it will likely propel the Sooners into the top 10 in the polls.  If they fall, it will likely keep them out of national title contention.  So, the suspension of Irish quarterback...

Brian Kelly...
