photo via ESPN/AP   Cincinnati beat Memphis by the score of 34-21 tonight. The Tigers were a game opponent, but they didn't have enough firepower offensively to keep pace with the Bearcats. Their defense also couldn't handle Brendon Kay. There are a couple of really good QBs in the American, but Kay is right up there with them. He threw a 27-35, 321 yard, 1 TD, 1 INT performance on the Tigers. He hit Anthony McClung for 98 yards and a TD, including the biggest of the game. Shaq Washington had 11 catches for 96 yards. That was a career high in yards for Washington. Washington has been amazing this season. Tion Green added a pair of rushing TDs. RDA and Jordan Luallen each punched on one as well. The defense didn't have much a tough task with the Tiger offense. There were good parts and there were bad. Brandon Hayes had a 31 yard rushing TD where no one touched him. But Cincinnati held Memphis to something like 61 yards in the first half. But Memphis' first...

Kay helps Cincinnati beat Memphis

Memphis coach Justin Fuente realizes turning around the Tigers football program is a challenge. He got another reminder Wednesday night that hurdles remain. The Tigers (1-6, 0-4 American Athletic Conference) were held to 232 yards of offense, hampered by dropped passes, in a 34-21 loss to Cincinnati. ''This is a big mountain we're climbing,'' Fuente said. ...

Cincinnati looking for another victory at Memphis

If Cincinnati wants to stay close in the chase for the inaugural American Athletic Conference title, they must avoid any letdown against the struggling Memphis Tigers. The Bearcats (5-2, 2-1) are a game behind Houston and UCF. Memphis (1-5, 0-3) has been close with five losses by an average of 7.6 points, and the Tigers, losers of three straight, have lead or been tied for the lead...

Cincinnati 34 Memphis 21

Cincinnati was able to outgun Memphis last night 34-21. I think this immediately brings 5 points to the table. If I'm hitting you with 4 points right off the bat, that means this was a statement game. Well a statement game of sorts. 1) This team is going as far as Brendon Kay takes them. 2) The running game is becoming a point of concern. 3) The defense is wildly...
