NEW YORK (AP) -- Three players from the ACC were named first-team All-Americans by The Associated Press on Wednesday, but it was the SEC that dominated the selections. Clemson tight end Dwayne Allen was named to the first team along with teammate Sammy Watkins, who was honored as an all-purpose back on offense. Boston College linebacker Luke Kuechly was also named to the first team for the second time. Watkins has already been named the National Freshman of the Year by The Sporting News. Watkins has 77 receptions for 1,153 yards and 11 touchdowns. He is also fourth in the nation in all-purpose yardage. No. 1 LSU became the first school with two cornerbacks on the first team -- Tyrann Mathieu and Morris Claiborne. Mathieu, a Heisman Trophy finalist, and Claiborne were joined on the All-America team by Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III of Baylor and finalists Montee Ball of Wisconsin and Trent Richardson of Alabama.
