Alabama Crimson TideAlong with Nick Saban's third national title came a smile and sigh of relief. You would think this is the greatest coaching job on the planet, but the media and arrogant expectations can take a toll.It all started with Paul "Bear" Bryant and the expectations that followed his career. Bill Curry, Ray Perkins, Mike DuBose, and Mike Shula all averaged three to four years as head coach of Alabama.Nick Saban will be coaching his seventh season in 2013; equal to that of Gene Stallings. They both won at least one national title. They expect nothing less than excellence.Notre Dame Fighting IrishTake coaches Knut Rockne, Frank Leahy, and a program full of history, and you create a position with value. In recent years, the Irish has had coaches Bob Davie, Tyrone Willingham, and Charlie Weis. The problem is that Lou Holtz had only 19 less wins than all coaches combined in the last 17 years. Holtz, with 11 years coached at ND, is the only Notre Dame coach to have 100 or more wins besides Knute Rockne. For current coach, Brian Kelly, making the title game last year will soon be forgotten. He has to do more or his years will be numbered.Tennessee VolunteersThere's a reason Neyland Stadium is important to those "Big Orange" fans -- national championships. Up until 1998, head coach George Neyland is the only one to win four national titles. That's when that big giant size coach came along and captured the hearts of all Volunteer fans. When Johnny Majors won enough games to bulid a 90,000-plus seat stadium, Phillip Fulmer came along to put even more seats in that humongous stadium. Fulmer won over 200 games, the first BCS National Championship in 1998, and put much pressure on coaches who followed him.Current coach Butch Jones has the Volunteer Nation breathing down his neck. He better be an improvement to Derek Dooley and not skip town like Lane Kiffin.Southern California TrojansSpeaking of Lane Kiffin, he needs to produce something fast or skip out of town once again. The USC Trojans football history began with coach Howard Jones winning four national titles, then in the '60s and '70s, John McKay won four more titles for the Trojans. After John Robinson won one in 1978 and Pete Carroll had two in 2003 and 2004, USC became the dominant team on the west coast with enormous expectations. Now, head coach Lane Kiffin must carry a load of pressure on his shoulders to do the same.Florida GatorsThe legacy that Steve Spurrier left from the 1990s, drastically changed the position of head coach at Florida. After Spurrier left the Gators, coach Ron Zook had a short shelf life in orange juice country. Zook only coached three seasons, and after losing to Georgia, his time as head coach quickly ended.By winning two titles, Urban Meyer, brought even more impact to Florida. After finishing 2010 with an 8-5 record, Meyer disappeared for other reasons.Current head coach, Will Muschamp, is in that same drivers' seat, but his days could be numbered. Sweetheart's Stuff     Tough: difficult or troublesome to do or deal with.Is being a football coach really a tough job? I can think of some jobs that don't involve wearing khakis, drawing up plays, yelling at players and acting like a big baby when you don't get your way.In 2012 83 firefighters died while on duty.Surgeons; when was the last time you saved someone's life?Waking before sunrise to farm all day (only the freshest produce for Nick Saban).Any job outside, working against heat exhaustion and brutal winter conditions. The list goes on and on. I'd like to hear about some real tough jobs. Please leave me your comments and tell me what you do that's tougher than these coaches!Sincerely,Sweetheart
