Draft Zone Spotlight: B.W. Webb, CB, William and Mary
When I came out with my first small school rankings, BW Webb of William and Mary was my favorite small school player. I said I thought he would be a 2nd round pick. I was criticized by other draftniks, but there was something I saw about the Tribe corner. I saw heart, good hands, and a quiet leader. He was by far the most talented corner coming from a small school, and after he killed the NFL Combine, Mike Mayock of NFL Network has BW in the top 5 corners in the Draft. This kid is a beast, I don’t need to list stats, because I guarantee this kid will be in the NFL next year. But my readers wanted to hear about BW, and here you go, find out about the best corner in the draft, IMO.
How many teams were recruiting you coming out of high school and how did you make your decision?
Boston College, Elon University and William & Mary were recruiting me out of high school and I made my decision to commit to William & Mary because they were the only school that offered me a full scholarship and I thought it was a no brainer because I didn’t want my parents to pay for school if they didn’t have to!
Who was your favorite NFL team growing up, and did you have a player you rooted for?
I never really had a favorite team growing, but I really rooted for Michael Vick being that we were from the same high school and same area!
At your position, how do you break down film, please inform our readers what you look for when breaking down film?
The first thing I try to get a feel for is the receivers speed, is he a speedy guy or does he have average speed. Next I look for how well he gets in and out of breaks and does he give away any of his routes when he comes off the line. Next I want to see how well he gets off press and how he does against off man. After done with that I am looking to see if I can get any clues as to what routes he is running based off of his pre-snap alignments. Lastly I am looking to see is he a “take the top off the defense” receiver or if he is a possession receiver.
Do you consider yourself a quiet leader or an outspoken role model?
If you could take one day back and erase it from your past what day would you erase?
I wouldn’t take anything back; I believe everything happens for a reason!

I always have to put my left sock and my left shoe on first!
If you could pick out your biggest weakness what would it be?
I wouldn’t call it a weakness, but one thing that I could improve on is my tackling
Have you talked to any NFL scouts throughout this process, and what feedback are you getting?
I feel that I have talked to all of the NFL scouts at the combine and at the senior bowl, but they are all giving me positive feedback and telling me to make sure I keep working hard and keep out of trouble leading up to the draft

Everyone asks this question but I’m curious to know what will you buy first with your first NFL pay check?
I probably will not but anything, I would just pay off my parents” bills/debts just so that they don’t have to worry about anything!
If you could meet one person, dead or alive who would it be and why?
I would probably say Tupac Shakur, because he is my favorite rapper who had such a live personality and he always spoke his mind even if it was not the appropriate time or place. And what people may not have known is that he was a very intelligent man, but that was often overshadowed by his bad guy image
