The Victory Formation:
What a start to the 2013 college football season, huh? Especially if you happened to stay awake to watch the end of the Ole Miss vs Vanderbilt game. The Dores looked to be in complete control for much of the game, and held a 28-17 lead in the second half. But the young Rebels offense found its groove late in the game, and grabbed a 32-28 lead after Bo Wallace ran it in for his second touchdown. Vandy responded with a Steven Scheu 34 Yd with a minute a half remaining. But when it looked like time was running out on Ole Miss to put together one last drive, Jeff Scott gave us the first dramatic play of the year: It isn’t often that you get an instant classic this early in the season. This game was a lot of fun, and even included a fake punt for a first down by #1 recruit Robert Nkemdiche. The Rebels are an extremely young and talented team, and unfortunately won’t get to play Vanderbilt all season in the SEC. They will take some lumps this season, but they are on their way to having a solid squad.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- As the clock struck midnight locally, Ole Miss would steal away with a victory over Vanderbilt that, seconds earlier, seemed unlikely.

The Ole Miss Rebels have lost starting middle linebacker Denzel Nkemdiche for 4-6 weeks and starting guard Aaron Morris for the year with a torn ACL.
Mississippi coach Hugh Freeze says linebacker Denzel Nkemdiche is expected to be out for four to six weeks because of a torn meniscus in his knee.
Freeze also confirmed that starting offensive lineman Aaron Morris will likely miss the rest of the season because of a torn ACL. Both injuries occurred during the Rebels' 39-35 victory over Vanderbilt on Thursday night.
