The Victory Formation:
What’s a week in January 2013 without talking about the activities of one Johnny Manziel? A municipal judge in Ennis, Texas, the dishonorable Lee Johnson, apparently tattled on the Texas A&M Aggies star quarterback. He didn’t tip of a newspaper, a TV station, or ESPN, no, he went on Facebook and gave what can only be described as a not so cryptic message. For what it is worth, as Chris Huston of CBS Sports points out, the judge is an alum of Baylor, and it is highly unlikely he is talking about last year’s Heisman Trophy winner. Baylor also was one or the more vocal schools when A&M bolted for the SEC, so there is a bit of an axe to grind. But aside from those facts, it is pretty obvious that this is talking about Manziel. This is not the first time in the past couple of weeks he has been told to grow up. According to Huston, it is likely that Johnson is going to have to recuse himself from the case, in the least, as legal experts told him that this was highly unethical. Aside from the judges horrible, um, judgement, it does continue to show that [...]
BEST OF MAXIM
Oklahoma Sooners defensive coordinator Mike Stoops had some pretty telling comments about Johnny Manziel after he won the Heisman Trophy.
“They’re gonna be tough to deal with. If they can keep him out of jail or keep him eligible, he’s gonna be pretty good,” Stoops said.
“If they can keep him off the Twitter, he might win three or four Heismans. He’ll have that type...
Johnny Manziel got a speeding ticket in Ennis, Texas recently.
This in itself is not a news story. But when a judge in Ennis goes on Facebook and taunts the Texas A&M quarterback, to going so far as to reveal he, a judge, has already decided Manziel was guilty, and made the mistake of having to add an extra comment that said "allegedly," and it turns out the judge...
Johnny Football is going to keep being Johnny Football.
Johnny Manziel said that nobody from Texas A&M has talked to him about changing his lifestyle, which has seen the Heisman Trophy winner tweet pictures of himself with handfuls of cash at an Oklahoma Casino, sitting courtside at various NBA games and holding a bottle of champagne with a sparkler hanging out of his mouth...
Texas A&M Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel says his ''mind was blown'' when he learned of the Manti Te'o girlfriend hoax.
Manziel has gotten to know Te'o, Notre Dame's Heisman runner-up, while attending various award ceremonies over the last month and a half. The pair spent time together this weekend at the Walter Camp Awards dinner.
Johnny Manziel is everywhere these days. Since winning the Heisman Trophy, he’s been courtside at a Mavericks game, in a casino with wads of cash, in a club poppin’ bottles, and in the news being scolded for all of it. Adding to his legends are these two lovely ladies. It’s a safe bet to … Continue reading »

Is there anything else ESPN wants Johnny Manziel to prove? The guy can even provide color commentary before a Texas A&M basketball game. What did Manziel have to say. No idea. We don’t watch Thursday night college basketball in January. Rules are rules.
As for the game, Florida thumped the Aggies, 68-47. We’ll assume Johnny left early for a College Station power hour.
It’s never too early to prognosticate in the world of sports, so it should surprise nobody that CBS Sports has released its first set of preseason power rankings for the 2013 college football season just over a week after the 2012 campaign’s conclusion.
What may surprise some, however, is the team that sits atop these rankings.
