Found January 30, 2013 on The Cardinal Connect:
Lamar Robbins, a 6-foot-3, 190-pound cornerback from Miami, Florida verbally committed to South Florida on Sunday afternoon. He chose USF over Louisville and Oklahoma. Robins had taken an official visit to Louisville the weekend before, but decided to go with South Florida, calling Willie Taggart’s program a perfect fit for him. Despite being rejected by Robbins, the Louisville coaching staff hasn’t quit pursuing the 3-star prospect. Charlie Strong stopped in to see Robbins yesterday in Miami for one last attempt to lure him to Louisville. Robbins seems pretty firm on his commit to USF, but I wouldn’t count Charlie Strong out just yet. As I’ve mentioned numerous times throughout the week, there are always some unexpected surprised on national signing day.

Three-star LB Kelsey commits to Cards

Charlie Strong added another piece to his 2013 recruiting puzzle as three-star linebacker Keith Kelsey committed to Louisville this morning. Kelsey, a native of Gainesville, chose the Cards over Kentucky and South Florida, and during his commitment put on a UK hat only to say “psych, I’m going to Louisville.” I’m sure Big Blue Nation will be cool with that. The Kelsey family...

An Early Look At Louisville’s Offense In 2013

Louisville will bring back just as many starters in 2013 as any other team in the Big East. Charile Strong will welcome in his 2013 recruiting class and a handful of transfers will be eligible for the first time. With just a couple more scholarships available, Louisville’s 2013 recruiting class looks to be complete on the offensive side. Here is an early look at Shawn Watson...

Cameron Fraser Flips Commitment From South Florida To Louisville

Kyle Bennett of is reporting that Cameron Fraser, a 3-star offensive lineman from Phenix City, AL., has flipped his commitment from South Florida to Louisville. Fraser, a 6-foot-5 300-pound prospect took an official visit to Louisville on Jan. 19 and visited UAB this past weekend. He had been verbally committed to South Florida since July, but will now join Charlie...

Fraser flips commitment to Louisville

University of Louisville football coach Charlie Strong has added a verbal commitment for the second day in a row. The Cardinals landed a verbal pledge from Phenix City, Ala., offensive lineman Cameron Fraser.

Blackshear Expected To Return On Sunday; Ware Back In Practice

Rick Pitino shared some pleasant news this evening on his weekly radio show. Coach Pitino says Wayne Blackshear will likely play on Sunday as the Cardinals host Marquette. Blackshear missed Monday’s game against Pittsburgh due to a shoulder sprain that he suffered in practice. “He (Blackshear) shot today (Thursday), he’ll practice tomorrow (Friday) and Saturday and should...

Photo: Louisville’s All White Adidas Uniforms For Marquette Game

As I’m sure most of you have heard Louisville’s game against Marquette on Sunday afternoon will be a “White Out” at the KFC Yum! Center. There is no official word if Rick Pitino will wear his infamous white suit or not, but the team will wear special edition all white uniforms from Adidas. Here is a photo of them that surfaced on Twitter this morning. Louisville is one of...

Peyton Siva Models New Adidas Whiteout Uniforms

Nick Stover, the University of Louisville social media director uploaded this photo earlier this afternoon with Peyton Siva modeling the Adidas all white uniforms for Saturday’s game against Marquette. These are slightly different than the photo that Adidas had released earlier this week. Still pretty sharp looking though, in my opinion.

Hard-nosed Siva helps Cardinals end skid

The Louisville Cardinals found themselves at number one in the nation two weeks ago, but after a pair of two-point losses to Syracuse and Georgetown and a 73-64 loss at Villanova, the Cardinals were reeling and needing a win for confidence and to basically get the team back in line to win the Big East regular season. Cards coach Rick PItino recognizes the impact of Peyton Siva...

Louisville 64 – Pittsburgh 61: Post Game Notes

Luke Hancock finished with five points, two rebounds, one assist and three steals.  However, his statline was not indicative of his night.  Played much better than most outings this season. Montrezl Harrell want Chane to feel the pressure.  Finished with a demonstrative eight points, one block and five rebounds in just 11 minutes. Pitt absolutely dominated second chance points...

Louisville basketball news and notes

The Cards finally got back to their winning ways last night with a 64-61 win over a solid Pittsburgh team. It wasn’t the prettiest display we’ve ever seen (it typically never is against the Panthers) and Louisville still has not mastered closing teams out, but they did show a lot more positives on Monday night. First, Peyton Siva had one of his best floor games in some time....

Inside the boxscore: Louisville 64, Pitt 61

1. Pitt has struggled all season with free throws, and are 256th in FT% nationally. But those struggles were particularly acute vs Louisville, as the Panthers only made 3-12 (25%) for the game. It was the first time this season they made less than half their FTs. 2. After the win, Louisville is now 17-4, 5-3. This team began the season 16-1 before losing three in a row. The win...

An Early Look At Louisville’s Defense In 2013

Louisville will bring back just as many starters in 2013 as any other team in the Big East. Charile Strong will welcome in his 2013 recruiting class and a handful of transfers will be eligible for the first time. With just a couple more scholarships available, Louisville’s 2013 recruiting class looks to be about 95% complete. Here is an early look at what is available on the defensive...
