This Week in College Football [TWCIF #8} – The University of Michigan has an enormous fan base, one of the richest in college sports (which includes yours truly for over 30 years), but it also drives some of us crazy when you see the potential for a memorable season slip away because the coaches got conservative and left the deciding outcome on the foot of their field goal kicker.  Well the results speak for themselves, a 4OT loss to Penn State.

Commentary: What to make of these Michigan Wolverines?

At this point it is obvious our young Michigan Wolverines team is working through some growing pains. The four-overtime cardiac-clutch of the game this past Saturday was both appeasing and infuriating. While it seems the defense made some strides, the offense still looked to struggle. The offensive live was the most disappointing position group as has been the case most of the year...

Penn State: Insight For A Maize and Very Blue Nation

It took 4 overtimes for Michigan to finally snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory in the Wolverine’s 43-40 loss to Penn State.   There were at least a dozen events in the game that could have changed the outcome for Michigan.   However none of those possible scenarios occurred and at the end of the four-overtime day Michigan came up short. Not surprisingly, some in Wolverine...

Unranked Michigan can evenly share blame for loss

Michigan coach Brady Hoke says he doesn't think the team's play-calling was too conservative in the Wolverines' four-overtime loss to Penn State, but he did take the blame for a delay-of-game penalty late in regulation that led to a punt. The Wolverines lost a 10-point, fourth-quarter lead at Penn State and fell 43-40 on Saturday. On Sunday, Michigan dropped of The Associated...

There were scapegoats abound for the Michigan Wolveries’ stunning 43-40 overtime loss to the Penn State Nittany Lions on Saturday night, but plenty of people continue to look in the wrong places.
