Inside The Shoe:
Jim Tressel is gone, but he hasn’t been forgotten by the last recruiting class he herded to Ohio State.
As those freshmen stepped up one by one to introduce themselves to the media yesterday in the Woody Hayes Athletic Center, it was evident that they still hold the former coach in high esteem, with many sporting black wristbands emblazoned with the scarlet letters “JT.” They said they want to enhance the final legacy of Tressel’s 10-year run at OSU. The 2011 class is a great one with players such as Steve Miller, Braxton Miller (No relation), Doran Grant, and many more. With all of those guys, they are wearing bracelets to represent the man that brought us a National Championship and too many victories to count, including a Heisman and a Rose Bowl victory.
In the meantime, the wristbands honoring Tressel and passed out by a member of the support staff were fast becoming a fashion statement yesterday for the freshmen, all of whom have been together since summer school started in June.
“I wear it because (Tressel) was a good guy to me,” defensive end Steve Miller said. “It meant a lot to me coming here, because he recruited me strong. That’s why I wear it. I miss him.”For the freshmen, the past several months have been a time to try to understand the upheaval while also coming to grips with the future.“I am actually excited for coach (Luke) Fickell, because I knew he always wanted to be a head coach at the great university of Ohio State, and he recruited me and was one of the main reasons I came here,” said linebacker Ryan Shazier, who enrolled in January. “I love coach Tressel to death, but I am really excited for coach Fickell now, and I am really excited for the season."If you would like to become part of the group that are wearing these bracelets, which are pretty cool if you ask me, then you can go here to purchase one if bracelets are your thing.

Want to know how Ohio State players how much they think of former head football coach Jim Tressel? They've been seen in public wearing black wristbands with the letters "JT" in large red letters. A little cheesy, perhaps. Considering the circumstances behind Tressel being an ex-football coach over his (mis)handling of Tatgate, it's perhaps a little misguided. But...

This story had escaped my attention until just now but seems like a few Buckeye football players (freshman, it seems) were wearing "JT" wristbands to support departed coach Jim Tressel. Then today Ohio State University made them stop wearing them, and reimbursed them the money they apparently paid a staffer for them.
A couple things:
-This loyalty is understandable...
