Alabama may have had a bye last week, but that didn't call for head coach Nick Saban to take a "mental break" of any kind. He said he may have left town, may have watched other games Saturday, but all the while he was honed in on his own team.

Alabama Crimson Tide fans family portrait: Dad pretends he’s about to throw baby (pic)

Alrighty then. Just one thing, Clan of Alabama Crimson Tide Fans Who Take Whimsical Family Portraits: If Daddy did in fact make the horrible decision to toss the baby like a football over to Mama, please, please, please tell me she had the good sense not to spike the poor infant. Nick Saban, Alabama Face Several Major Challenges on Road to National Title Repeat

College football is by far one of the most unpredictable sports at any level of play, so why is it people already think they know who the national champion will be just six weeks into the 2012 season? 2011 was one of the craziest roller coaster rides in the history of the BCS rankings. Upsets dominated the headlines and after most of the contenders had been wiped off the board only...

Saban: Latest SEC games debunk predictions' value

Alabama coach Nick Saban says the latest Southeastern Conference weekend shows how little predictions mean in college football. The top-ranked Crimson Tide, which plays at Missouri Saturday, returns from an open date to a different SEC landscape - except at the top. Saban said Monday Florida's win over LSU and South Carolina beating Georgia shows the game's parity. He says...

Mizzou's Pinkel: Alabama has no weaknesses

On the SEC Coaches' Teleconference Wednesday morning, Missouri head coach said that Alabama is a team that doesn't have any weaknesses. Nick Saban would probably like to disagree with that statement.

In their first trip to Faurot Field in 34 years, the top-ranked Crimson Tide try to frustrate redshirt freshman Corbin Berkstresser and prevent...

Old friends will be on opposite sides

Nick Saban, who is head coach at Alabama, and Gary Pinkel, head coach at Missouri, first met as student-athletes at Kent State University in the 1970s. Both have stayed in football as coaches, and both have been head coaches for many years, and they meet for the first time this week.

Tide Had Expected Tougher Schedule

Prior to the start of the 2012 football season, Alabama was considered to have a very difficult schedule. The Crimson Tide opened the season in Dallas against eighth-ranked Michigan and had to go to 10th-rated Arkansas two weeks later. There were other difficult road games, too, not to mention some tough home contests.

Off to the same start...

Try as they might to get away from questions regarding 2010, the Crimson Tide is off to the exact same start this season as they were two years ago. But a win in Columbia this weekend will change the course of comparison.
