Texas Tech LB Dimitri Moore denies Lane Kiffin's accusations against him

Lane Kiffin reacted strongly to an incident that took place during Ole Miss' 42-25 loss to the Texas Tech Red Raiders in the TaxAct Texas Bowl on Wednesday night.

Kiffin made an accusation against Texas Tech linebacker Dimitri Moore, saying that the Red Raider senior spit on one of his players and potentially used a racial slur.

Those are accusations that Moore vehemently denied on Thursday, via a press release from Texas Tech.

"I can't state strongly enough that these accusations are false," Moore said, per ESPN. "It is disappointing to have my final game as a collegiate student-athlete overshadowed by the false accusations that were stated last night.

"Since I have arrived at Texas Tech, I have strived to represent my teammates, this coaching staff and most importantly, my family, in the highest manner. It has been an honor to represent this program as we closed our season with a great team victory last night."

Texas Tech first-year head coach Joey McGuire had a problem with Kiffin's statements, saying, "We are disappointed an opposing head coach decided to insinuate serious allegations that are false and irresponsible. I have discussed these allegations with Dimitri Moore, and he disputed the two claims that were brought forth against him.

Kiffin had alleged that Moore had spit on Ole Miss lineman Jayden Williams after a scrum for a loose football.

"There was a racial slur involved; that's not the point of what we're talking about, [it's] about the spitting part. I brought our own 71 up to the officials, right or wrong, you see him crying? He's not crying, not because he got spit on, it's because something was said," Kiffin said.

Notably, Kiffin acknowledged that he did not hear the racial slur, so he wasn't sure if it actually happened.

That didn't stop him from making the accusation, though.
