Transfer Portal: Southern Miss Lands Florida State QB Tate Rodemaker

Southern Miss will add another Power Five transfer to their quarterback room in 2024.

Florida State's Tate Rodemaker announced his commitment to Will Hall's team over the weekend.

In his four seasons at FSU, Rodemaker threw for 901 yards with seven touchdowns and five interceptions Rodemaker saw his role increase later in the season after FSU starter Jordan Travis was injured with a broken leg. He completed 32 passes on 56 attempts for 510 yards with five touchdown passes.

Southern Miss' leading passer in 2023 was Billy Wiles, a sophomore Clemson transfer. Wiles threw for 1940 yards with a 53.8 completion percentage. That also included 11 touchdowns with seven interceptions. Southern Miss went 3-9 in 2023 with seven quarterbacks on the roster.

Rodemaker will have two years of eligibility remaining. He'll be one of the older QBs on the Golden Eagles' roster.
