Fox Sports North:
After a 4-0 start to the season, Minnesota suffered its first loss of the season last Saturday against rival Iowa. The Gophers were outplayed in nearly every facet of the game and now must regroup as they head to Ann Arbor, Mich., to take on the Wolverines in another trophy game. I took time to answer your questions in advance of Saturday's game at the Big House. Thanks to everyone who submitted questions this week.
Q: After watching Nelson struggle for the entire first half, why did Kill not turn to Leidner? I know he played against subpar competition the two weeks he played but considering how bad Nelson was -- missing wide open receivers or jumping around in the pocket like he was scared -- what did they have to lose?--Kyle, Wisconsin
A: I agree, Kyle, that Kill and the coaching staff probably should have played Leidner in Saturday's game against Iowa. In fact, I was surprised to see Nelson starting the game, as I figured the Gophers would stick with what worked the wee...

After last week’s bye week, the Michigan football team hopes to improve on its recent performance when they host Minnesota on Saturday at 3:30. MINNEAPOLIS -- The 45-yard pass likely still haunts the dreams of Minnesota's defense.
Facing a 3rd-and-17 from the Gophers' 45-yard line in last year's game at TCF Bank Staidum, Michigan quarterback Devin Gardner did everything he could to buy time. He started running in circles, backtracking 10 yards to his own 45-yard line before scrambling to the left. Finally, nearly...

Coming off the bye week the Wolverines have had a chance to regroup, refocus, and rest up. While I think this Minnesota...
If any undefeated football team ever needed a bye week, it was Michigan.
The Wolverines scored 100 points in their first two games, beating Central Michigan and Notre Dame. They then had to make a last-second goal-line stand to beat lowly Akron, and were down 21-7 before coming back to beat a UConn team that lost to Towson of the FCS.
After that, Michigan needed a week off to...
The Golden Gophers started off their week good when Texas outside linebacker Everett Williams committed to Minnesota. Just a few days later, they have added their eighth commitment from a in-state tight end prospect

The Michigan Wolverines are off to a nice 4-0 start in 2013, but you wouldn’t guess it from all of the criticism they are facing. Michigan completely underwhelmed against both Akron and UConn, which has led many people to give the Wolverines the dreaded “overrated” label.
Part of the reason that Michigan has been involved in some close games is a sudden...
Devin Gardner has turned the ball over seven times in two games, making Michigan vulnerable to being upset.
''Sometimes I try to do too much,'' the quarterback acknowledged.
Minnesota (4-1, 0-1 Big Ten) hopes to help Gardner continue the trend when it travels to play the 19th-ranked Wolverines (4-0) in their conference opener Saturday.
''I think he panics...
