Head coach of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Urban Meyer said he hit a home run today with the recruits he signed. Meyer has always been a great recruiter and today was no different. You would think that Meyer would have a hard time with an encore after the Season he had in his first year as the Buckeyes coach. Meyer didn’t have a hard time at all. He is building a team that will be good for the Buckeyes for years to come. He goes after the talent he wants and somehow he always comes through with the winners. And why not? Who wouldn’t want to go to The Ohio State University and play for Urban Meyer? The guy is going to have the Buckeyes in the National Championship game in no time. If you’re a high school football player and you take playing the game seriously and want to some day get into the NFL there is no better way to get the exposure you need than to play for a School like O.S>U. and there is no better coach in college football than Urban Meyer. How good is this recruiting class Urban Meyer got his hands on today? Scout.com currently ranks the Buckeyes’ recruiting class the best in the nation. That is saying something about the football program at O.S.U. The Buckeyes had 25 commits today. Some of the names include some of the best high school players in the Nation. Guys like, Ezekiel Elliott a running back from (John Burroughs School) St. Louis, MO. James Clark a wide receiver from (New Smyrna Beach HS) New Smyrna Beach, FL. Vonn Bell a safety ranked 2nd in the nation from (Ridgeland HS) Rossville, GA. Dontre Wilson a running back from (De Soto HS) Desoto, TX, this guy is ranked 10th in the nation. Corey Smith a wide receiver from (East Mississippi) Scooba, MS. These are just a few of the guys that made a commitment to come in and play for Urban Meyer and the Ohio State Buckeyes. I don’t know about you, but I am looking forward to seeing the Buckeyes play next season. It is going to be another exciting year I can tell you that. You can see the rest of the guys who signed letters of commitment by following this link. He be sure to tell us what you think about the 2013 Ohio State Buckeyes Recruits. Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer expressed his displeasure with how the rest of the Big Ten performed in landing top recruits and he plans to address it at the coaches meeting.
Not playing for the team you grew up rooting for happens all the time in college athletics, especially football. Just because you are a fan of one team, and happen to be a good player, doesn’t mean you are on their radar. Take Reon Dawson of Trotwood-Madison High in Ohio. The 3-star recruit grew up an Ohio State Buckeyes fan, but the Bucks didn’t recruit him. However, the Michigan...
If you weren’t sure who the Alpha-male was in the B1G, look no further than Urban Meyer at Ohio State. He wants to bring a bit of that SEC spirit to the conference, especially after seeing a down year in recruiting. Not his recruiting, after all, Ohio State ended up with a Top 5 class according to all the major scouting sources. The only other team to receive such high honors was...
COLUMBUS, Ohio - With a little nervous energy to burn on what had already been a very full morning, Ohio State coach Urban Meyer headed for the treadmill.
He was awaiting a call from five-star safety prospect Vonn Bell, another highly-regarded piece to what was already a highly-rated puzzle in regards to Ohio State recruiting. In two months on the job last year, Meyer somehow managed...
