PLAYERS: Lance Armstrong
Lance Armstrong's attorney says the United States Anti-Doping Agency has granted Armstrong a 30-day extension to answer doping charges while the seven-time Tour de France winner challenges the case in federal court. The move erases the Saturday deadline for Armstrong to either send the case to arbitration or accept sanctions from USADA, which would likely include a lifetime ban from sport and stripping the Tour de France titles he won from 1999-2005. Armstrong attorney Tim Herman says he has withdrawn a request for U.S. District Judge Sam Sparks to issue temporary restraining order in the case. A USADA spokeswoman had no immediate comment. USADA has accused Armstrong of doping during much of his career. Armstrong insists he is innocent and says he never failed a drug test.

Lance's lawsuit vs. USADA dismissed

A federal judge has dismissed Lance Armstrong's lawsuit against the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency, but says the cyclist can refile it within 20 days. The seven-time Tour de France champion sued USADA on Monday in an attempt to prevent it from moving forward with charges that he used performance-enhancing drugs throughout much of his career. U.S. District Judge Sam Sparks ruled just...

Rep. James Sensenbrenner, a Republican, wrote the Office of National Drug Control Policy on Thursday questioning...

Exercise For The Expectant

When I think of fitness, I tend to envision barbells, treadmills, armbands, and sweaty Lance Armstrong types. When I think of pregnancy, on the other hand, donuts, air conditioning and soft couches are more likely to come to mind. But that’s not how it has to be, and more and more pregnant Portlanders are deciding not to forego exercise just because they’re with children. Luckily...

Current Tour de France leader not shy with words for doubters

You probably haven’t had as much interest in the Tour de France this past year, or for the last several years, because Lance Armstrong hasn’t been winning it, and now is completely removed from the sport of cycling. And, if you are like me, look at cycling as one of the most dirty sports there [...]
