A.B. Who doesn’t love a good conspiracy theory? Conspiracy theories make us, the general public, feel like we are part of an investigation or an unsolved mystery; like we are Indiana Jones searching for the Holy Grail. A good conspiracy theory makes us feel like we are part of something bigger than our 9-5 lives and helps us escape from the monotony. But most importantly, conspiracy theories are easy and safe to dive into. With the invention of the internet (thank you Al Gore) and sites like YouTube, a person can sit in their pajamas in the comfort of their home and play sleuth. They don’t have to deal with bad guys with guns or government agents knocking on their door. They can splice together a few unrelated clips, quote some unofficial sources and make other people believe that they are onto something.
