It was Kelly Rowland’s birthday. La La and company celebrated Kelly’s birthday last season also, but this episode was very sugary and sweet compared to last week’s premiere.

I love Kelly but VH1 let the air out of the balloon with this one.

Basically, Kelly was in Los Angeles to accept an award from Essence Magazine.

She also planned to celebrate her birthday by having a dinner party that would include La La, Dice, and Po as guests.

In a small twist, La La received an invitation to walk in the Heart Truth Red Dress Celebrity Fashion Show charity during NY Fashion Week — the same night as Kelly’s celebration.

Derek Jeter’s on again/off again love, Minka Kelly also participated.

La La hit the runway wearing my fave designer, Rachel Roy.

After figuring out they could attend the show then catch a red-eye flight to LA, the ladies decided to trick Kelly into thinking they weren’t gonna make it for her birthday.

But, they arrived in LA only to find out Kelly canceled her party.

They found her at the studio and surprised her with a night out for dinner where they were joined by the beautiful Tika Sumpter.

La La took the opportunity to express her feelings and gratitude about her friendship with Kelly and Dice and Po shared gifts with her.

See. Simple and sweet.
