Listen, it’s a good thing Fantasy Football wasn’t around during J.R.R. Tolkien’s time. Why, you ask? Easy, because if it was, there would have been no Shire, my friends, no hobbits, nor rings, and Robert Plant would have had very little material—we’re talking no Misty Mountain Hop for sure, probably no Led Zeppelin IV at all. Let’s not even mention what it would have done to Sean Astin’s career. It would have been all Goonies and Rudy, no Samwise Gamgee, boy…whew!
The reason I’m saying this is because Fantasy Football is the fastest growing sport (that’s right, I said it) in America—dare I say the world? Can you even imagine a world where people didn’t argue over the 4th best running back in the NFL? I surely cannot. Current estimations claim that over 40 million people participate in Fantasy sports, with football being the one most highly ranked. Even my sister plays Fantasy Football!
