What has former Braves closer John Rocker been up to all these years after he became a hero to rednecks, Republicans & hate mongers? Well, there was the baseball comeback in 2005 and some work in real estate. In other words, he’s been living off the $5,000,000 he made during his baseball career. And stewing with hate towards President Obama. And immigrants. And pretty much every other talking point you can think of.
Look, we could care less what Rocker thinks of Obama. The guy is a quote machine and that makes for good Internet. And pageviews. So sit back and enough or hate Rocker a little more than you already do.
Via WND.com recently sat down with the lefty to set the record straight and talk about his book “Scars & Strikes”:
“Like hopefully a majority of Americans out there, I’ll be voting against President Obama this year. I won’t necessarily be voting for the Republican candidate as much as I will be voting against Obama. America has been the greatest nation this earth has ever known over the last 150 plus years. In my strong opinion Barack Obama does not hold a single core value or belief consistent with the principles that created this amazing country we call the United States of America. His belief system could not be more foreign from those of the ‘Greatest Generation,’ from the beliefs of a Truman, Roosevelt, Eisenhower, or Reagan.
Ok, nothing too outlandish. The guy doesn’t like Obama. Cool with that. His opinion.
It seems that Governor Romney will be getting my vote, although be it somewhat by default. I would vote for the devil himself over Barack Obama which would actually be tough though as he seems to already be a supporter.”
Now we’re talking! Devil over Obama! Headlines, baby! Pageviews! Love it. Go on.
As for how he’d solve America’s issue with foreign oil.
Tell the ‘Greenpeacers’ to go find a new cause for their out-of-touch hearts to bleed about and put as many resources and as much effort as this country can collectively muster into becoming energy independent through coal, oil and natural gas exploration. I would envision something in the vein of FDR and his New Deal.
Woah, wait a minute, did he utter FDR and the New Deal? Brah, you realize that’s like the biggest commie move ever made by a sitting president?
Anyway, Rocker goes on to cry about how he was blackballed from baseball even though his career finished up in 2002 with a Texas Rangers team with long ties to then-President Bush. The team gave him 30 appearances and he rewarded them with a 6.66 ERA and 1 save. Oh, and he gave up five dongs in 24 innings.
But, it was the media who ruined his career.
The guy has moved on, though, and is just now hanging out at mullet tosses.
