We are society of over-caffeination, of 401K disappearances that would fool David Copperfield. 2011 has been a year of startling clarification, miscommunications, disagreements, and escalating violence. Hope for the future is thinner than Ashley Olsen on a Splenda diet.
What is the right path, the moral path? Is this path the best one? Will Greece be an economy at all in a few months? Will PennState ever recover?
Will graduating college students get their dream job? Will they get a job? Will the “Wall-Street Occupiers” become something more, something less or dissipate completely? 2012 will bring questions, but will this upcoming year bring any answers.
Will we still be a society of the over-worked and undervalued, a country with a mandatory vacation allotment of zero? Is it possible for the populous majority to act like it, to denounce greed and pronounce fairness? In 2012, will golden parachutes get popped?
Is this year going to be different? Will jobs that American’s invent stay here? Will the housing market rebuild, the car industry race on, the stock market boom? Or, will we become the country we are becoming, the one of patriotism without a promising future? Are we going to elect the wrong choice? Is there even a right choice? Are American’s too fed up to vote at all?

Who is going to take control and captain our sinking ship? Have we become the Titanic, too big to fail, too powerful to fall, but realistically sinkable?

Is Jimmy Carter the closest thing we have to Nostradamus predicting our nation’s directional downswing over 30 years ago? Can we show resolve, intestinal fortitude? Is it possible we can rebound, rebuild, re-grow our economy, our lives?
Only time will tell.
