Irish Hills: The NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) will make its only trip of the 2013 season to the Irish Hills and Michigan International Speedway (MIS) this weekend for the Alliance Truck Parts 250. Nelson Piquet Jr. will make his first career NNS start at MIS on Saturday afternoon, but is no stranger to success at the 2.0-mile track, having brought home the checkered flag in last year’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race. This Week’s Camaro: The No. 30 WORX team will have chassis TSM-400 for this Saturday afternoon’s race at MIS. TSM-400 is a brand new chassis for the No. 30 WORX Yard Tools team. Come and See: Piquet Jr. and the rest of his Turner Scott Motorsports teammates will participate in the NNS autograph session on Friday, June 14th from 4:15-5:00 p.m. EDT at the Bud Acceleration Club located outside the Turn 4 grandstands. Iowa Recap: Mother Nature wasn’t too kind to the NNS last weekend, as rain caused the DuPont Pioneer 250 at Iowa Speedway to be delayed for a day. Making his first career NNS start at Iowa Speedway last weekend, Nelson Piquet Jr. and his No. 30 Qualcomm team looked to put down laps and get familiar with the 0.875-mile speedway in the 250-lap race. Piquet Jr. and his No. 30 Qualcomm team started the weekend by qualifying 22nd at the Iowa short track. After battling multiple rain delays and an accident towards the end of the race, Piquet Jr. and the No. 30 Qualcomm Chevy Camaro were credited with a 25th-place finish. Welcome Back: Piquet Jr. will again display the WORX colors on the No. 30 this weekend at MIS. Established in 1994, WORX Yard Tools USA, based in Charlotte, N.C., is one of the fastest growing companies serving the global power equipment market today. A diversified manufacturer and marketer of a complete range of electric-powered lawn and garden equipment and related products, WORX has over 4000 employees worldwide. The WORX line-up includes innovative grass trimmers, chainsaws, lawn mowers, hedge trimmers, blowers and more. All WORX products are emission-free and feature intuitive functions, tool-less adjustments and best-of-industry ergonomics. You can find WORX yard tools at retailers such as Lowe’s, Walmart, Sears, Amazon.com and local lawn & garden dealers. Watch and Listen: The Alliance Truck Parts 250 can be seen live on Saturday, June 15th on ABC. Race coverage will begin at 2:00 p.m. EDT. The event can also be heard live on MRN Radio as well as SiriusXM Satellite Radio, channel 90. Nelson Piquet Jr. on his return to Michigan: “I am really looking forward to getting back on the track this weekend at Michigan. Michigan is a really fun, fast two-mile oval. It has multiple grooves, and you can run wide open most of the time. We won the Truck race there last year, so I think we can contend for a really good finish.” -Turner Scott Motorsports PR
