Retief Goosen played through his back pain today to shoot a 65 in his third round at the Transitions Championship today. Joining Goosen a top the leader board is another familiar face Jim Furyk made his way to 11 under par after shooting a 66 in his third round. Both Goosen and Furyk know how to win a golf tournament. Jason Dufner held the overnight lead, he played well today but not well enough to hold off the charge of Furyk and Goosen. Dufner who shot a pair of 66′s in the first two rounds finished his day at even par to reamin 10 under par. It could have been a little worse as Dufner who went bogey free in his first two rounds had two bogeys today, he also was able to make two birdies to get back to even par and remain at just one stroke off the lead.

Goosen had 7 birdies and just one bogey on his way to 65 today. The pain in Goosen’s back is really bothering the soft spoken man from South Africa. Goosen said he has back pain through every shot. Hopefully Goosen’s back will let him play good enough to compete again tomorrow.

Jim Furyk had 6 birdies and one bogey on his way to the top of the leader-board today. Both Furyk and Goosen will be chased by a field of players in which at least the next 7 guys cold have a very real chance of winning this golf tournament, including the SOUTH KOREAN born SANG-MOON BAE who is just one stroke back after he posted a 68 today making it his third round of the week in the sixties.

Lets not forget about Ernie Els who is only three strokes off the lead after following yesterdays 67 with a 68 today. Things can get pretty interesting for the final round of the Transitions Championship down in Palm Harbor Florida tomorrow.

“My results probably don’t look good on paper, but I feel good about the way I’m playing,” Furyk said. “I’ve been playing much better golf this year than I was last year.”
