Tiger Woods has some work to do he wants to win the Memorial for a sixth time. A lot of work.
Bill Haas handled the windy, tough conditions Friday at Muirfield Village for a 5-under 67 that put him in control at 9-under 135. Woods missed only one fairway, but he couldn't do anything from there. He bogeyed his last hole for a 74 and was 10 shots behind. Woods has never won a PGA Tour event from farther than nine shots behind, and that was 14 years ago at Torrey Pines.
Haas had a three-shot lead among the early starters. Charl Schwartzel, the 18-hole leader, played in the afternoon.
Woods was at 1-over 145, his worst 36-hole total at the Memorial since the first year he played in 1997.

Jack Nicklaus has weighed in on the feud between Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia and he didn't mince words when expressing his displeasure with it all.
Tiger Woods has an amazing and lengthy resume thanks to his early dominance in the game of golf. From when he was 3-years-old on the Mike Douglas Show in 1978 to his comeback in 2013 with four majors wins. Through the years his swing has changed slightly thanks to different approaches from coaches, from leg injuries and age taking it’s toll. You can see a variation of his swing...

walked off with a birdie. Tiger Woods kept hitting fairways and

Sergio Garcia got plenty of heat for his "fried chicken" comment directed toward Tiger Woods when the Spanish golfer spoke at a recent awards dinner.
Frank Beckmann, a columnist for the Detroit News, radio host in Motown and radio voice of Michigan football, wasn't happy with the reaction to Garcia's remark, and wrote so in a column on Detroitnews.com.
The voice of Michigan football should stick to calling play-by-play.
Frank Beckmann, the Wolverines' radio broadcaster for more than three decades, has apologized and was condemned by the university for his weekly Detroit News column appearing May 24 that was titled, "Sergio Garcia 'chicken' gaffe reveals our thin skin."
Garcia created a controversy recently...

DUBLIN, Ohio (AP) Jack Nicklaus only has to look at some of the clashes on the PGA Tour in recent months to see how far golf has come since he was in his prime.
That's not necessarily a good thing.
"We were trying to figure out how to get somebody to write about anything when we played," Nicklaus said Wednesday on the eve of the Memorial. "I think today you have...
