It has only been 29 months since October 2010, but to Tiger Woods, those months must have felt like years. That was the last time Woods was ranked No. 1 in the world until he regained the top golf ranking when he won his eighth Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill, tying a record. For people like James Ellington, golfer and fan, Woods’ climb back to the top is a great thing for the sport as a whole. Woods played conservatively over his final few holes and shot a bogey on the 18th just to play it safe. He finished with a 2-over 70 in his final round and beat Justin Rose by two strokes. His fall from the top spot started after a combination of his wife leaving him because of his cheating as well as a knee injury. Woods has been working on his return and putting in the extra time, and now it looks like he’s back in form. His next big test will come at the Masters. James Ellington, golfer, says Woods needs to put on a good show at the Masters and win in order to prove to his doubters that he is back. The win was his third of the season and his first since announcing that he and Olympic skier Lindsay Vonn are dating. Vonn celebrated the ranking with a tweet that simply said “Number 1!!!” Woods never let anyone within two strokes of him in the fourth round, which was delayed due to inclement weather and carried over into Monday. Rickie Fowler tried to make things interesting as he sunk a 25-foot putt on the 14th for a birdie that put him two behind Woods, but went for all or nothing on the par-5 16th and came up with water twice. That resulted in a triple bogey. Woods tied two records with his eighth win at Bay Hill. First, he tied the record that Sam Snead set when he won the Greater Greensboro Open eighth times over a span of 27 years. Woods also tied his own record for most wins at a single course, as he has won at Torrey Pines eight times, one time for a U.S. Open title. According to James Ellington, golfer and perfectionist, winning eight times at two different courses shows how dominant Woods can be. US Weekly’s Tiger Woods-Lindsey Vonn cover: ‘In Love With A Sex Addict’ (pic)

US Weekly decided — wisely, I might add — to plaster Lindsey Vonn and Tiger Woods all over the cover of the periodical’s latest issue. Woods and Vonn, who awkwardly made their relationship public last week, have stressed that they crave privacy as the two pursue their budding romance, so I’m sure US Weekly will respect their wishes after this issue. On the other hand, maybe...

Tiger Woods set to win his fifth Masters title

Tiger Woods is going to win the Masters. As surely as birds chirp, azaleas bloom and CBS announcers swoon over the beauty of Augusta National, by sundown on the second Sunday in April, Tiger will have his fifth green jacket and his 15th major championship. This isnt an original observation. Before Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and Gary Player shuffle out to the tee for the ceremonial...

The Masters is not only the first major of the year, it starts the major season and this...

Mahan sees Tiger intimidation returning

Hunter Mahan doesn't believe Tiger Woods has to win a major to validate his return to No. 1 in the world. Woods fell to as low as No. 58 toward the end of 2011. But after winning at Bay Hill for his sixth PGA Tour title in the last 53 weeks, Woods returned to the top of the ranking for the first time since October 2010. Woods hasn't won a major, however, since the 2008 U...

Golf: Tiger’s intimidation returning…slowly but surely

HUMBLE, Texas (AP) — Maybe it was that he wanted to go into the Master’s with some momentum or he wanted to clear up his swing or maybe he wanted to make sure everyone knew before the first major of the year – he’s back…..really back…scary back! But Hunter Mahan doesn’t believe Tiger Woods has to win a major to validate his return to No. 1 in the world. Woods fell to...

Lindsey Vonn and Tiger Woods recently confirmed they are dating, though they have not revealed many details about their relationship. Did Tiger Woods Steal Lindsey Vonn From Kris Humphries?

Poor little tink tink. It seems Kris Humphries can’t find a woman to stay with him longer than a few months, before running to the arms of a wealthier more popular man. According to Gossip Extra, before Tiger Woods publicly announced he was in a relationship with Lindsey Vonn, it appears Humphries was close in the second place. “Woods wasn’t Vonn’s only suitor,” a source...
