Rory McIlroy may not have won a tournament all season, but he fended off world No. 1 Tiger Woods in their one-on-one duel - The Match at Mission Hills - on Monday. As it did in 2012, the event came down to one stroke. Arriving at the 17th hole all square on the par-73 Blackstone Course at Mission Hills Golf Club in Haikou, China, Woods watched as his par putt stopped on the lip of the cup. When McIlroy subsequently sank his for par, he regained the lead for the first time since the third hole. Woods had an eagle putt on 18, but it ran right and never threatened. He managed birdie, but after McIlroy's eagle putt nearly dropped, he easily made birdie too. That gave the 24-year-old a 6-under-67, and his second consecutive victory over Woods in China. It was the second straight year McIlroy has defeated Woods at the medal match in China. ''I would like to play all my tournaments...

McIlroy in lead at HSBC Champions

The graceful combination of power and balance. The bounce in his step after every birdie. His name at the top of the leaderboard. For at least one round, Rory McIlroy finally looked like the former No. 1 player in the world instead of a guy who hasn't won a tournament all year. With eight birdies and hardly any stress, McIlroy opened the HSBC Champions on Thursday with a 7-under...

Report: EA Sports Ditching Tiger Woods Partnership, Will Release New Version of Golf Game Without His Name in Title

It was strange when EA Sports announced that the 2015 version of its golf game, Tiger Woods PGA Tour, was being canceled for the first time since 1998. But now it makes a little more sense. As well as giving developers time to get the 2016 version tuned up for new consoles, the stalling also helps EA Sports with a pretty major move: The company has announced it is moving on from...
