Take notes, Bubba Watson. This is how you lighten up. Watson made news Tuesday at Valhalla — site of this weekend’s PGA Championship — when he refused to participate in a long drive contest during a practice round. Instead of unloading on one drive at the par-5 10th hole, Watson pulled out his 3-iron and hit a quick tee shot in apparent protest. Luckily for golf fans, Padraig Harrington didn’t take himself too seriously. The 2008 PGA Championship winner embraced the long drive contest on Tuesday, as he channeled his inner-Happy Gilmore.  Filed under: Golf, Top Stories

Bubba Watson Protests Harmless Long Drive Contest By Hitting Iron (Video)

Professional golfer Bubba Watson sometimes comes off like a fun-loving guy who just likes to play golf for a living, but the big-hitting lefty can be, well, a bit of a whiner. He was back to acting like a brat on Tuesday as he prepared for this weekend’s PGA Championship. The PGA’s best took to Valhalla Golf Club for a practice round Tuesday where there was a little bit of...

Padraig Harrington goes Happy Gilmore at long drive contesst

The PGA Championship held its annual Long Drive Competition yesterday at Valhalla in Louisville. Some guys take the competition a little more seriously than others – the top-three finishers receive $25,000, $15,000 and $10,000 in charity donations, respectively – but it tends to be pretty entertaining for fans regardless. Padraig Harrington did his best to entertain the crowd...

Bored Tiger Woods Throws Paper Airplane at Bubba Watson

The final round of the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational was a short one for Tiger Woods as he withdrew after nine holes due to an apparent back injury. Before taking himself out of competition, however, Woods had a little fun during the rain delay. That “fun” had nothing to do with golf, though. Paired with funny-guy Bubba Watson, Woods decided to break out his amusing side while...

WATCH: Padraig Harrington Performs Happy Gilmore Swing in Long Drive Contest

I don’t think Paddy made the swing look quite as powerful but he did pull it off. At the PGA Championship long-drive contest, Padraig Harrington did just that and hit the famous Happy Gilmore swing where he starts from a certain distance from the tee, runs towards the ball practically and smashes the ball. It looked like he just might have hit a little too much tee on that one...

Tiger Woods’ agent told ESPN.com on Monday that Woods has not been ruled out of the PGA Championship this week at Valhalla.
