Aliya Mustafina, who blew out her ACL in 2011, won the gold for uneven bars on Monday giving Russia their first gold in women's gymnastics.

Mustanfina's uneven bar routine was spectacular, filled with many difficult skills.  Her execution was exquisite, finishing with a score of 16.133.

China's He Kexin, who was the gold medalist in Beijing, won the silver medal.

Britain Beth Tweddle won the bronze.  She gave a wonderful performance, but on her landing she had to take two steps back costing her a chance at gold.  But after a disappointing performance in 2008 where she missed out on a bronze by 0.025, Tweedle was happy to finally win an Olympic medal.

Gabby Douglas of the United States and the all-around champion lost out on any chance at a medal when she stalled on a hand stand.

"I wasn't doubting myself but there's a lot of great talent," Douglas said. "You have Beth Tweddle, you have (Viktoria) Komova and Mustafina. They have one of the higher start values to actually post that big score. If I even did well, then I still would have gotten fourth or so."
