Will Power pulled off another stellar drive Sunday, coming from 12th on the grid and holding off a hard-charging Simon Pagenaud in the final laps to win the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach.

Power took control of the lead when Pagenaud made his final pit stop of the day, but the latter was far from finished. After coming out of the pits fourth, Pagenaud quickly disposed of Rubens Barrichello and then, with a pace that was at least one second faster than the top two drivers, he tracked down and dusted Takuma Sato for second place with six laps left.

The Frenchman continued on his torrid run and was able to get as close as two car lengths to Power in the last few circuits, as the Australian was dealing with lapped traffic. But in the end, Power managed to hang on by .8675 of a second.

Meanwhile, the action continued at the finish behind them as third-place finisher Ryan Hunter-Reay was penalized for avoidable contact in an incident with Sato. RHR was docked 30 seconds, sending him to sixth and moving James Hinchcliffe to third for the first podium of his IndyCar career.

Tony Kanaan charged from 19th to fourth, finally getting his season righted before he returns home to Brazil in two weeks. After him was J.R. Hildebrand, who came back from 20th to fifth in a great effort for him and Panther Racing.

Perhaps most stunning of all was the fact that seven Chevrolet-powered drivers (including winner Power and third-place Hinchcliffe) finished in the top 10 despite a 10-spot penalty for all Chevy pilots after the manufacturer's mass engine change before the weekend. The two lone Hondas in that group were Pagenaud, Sato (eighth) and Justin Wilson (tenth).
