Texas Rangers catcher A.J. Pierzynski had a rough sequence during the second inning of Saturday's game against the Seattle Mariners when he fell down the dugout steps after being thrown out at home plate.

Pierzynski tried to score from third on a grounder to short, but Mariners shortstop Brendan Ryan made a perfect throw home to catcher Kelly Shoppach, who had home plate blocked to prevent Pierzynski from scoring on the fielder's choice.
Pierzynksi expressed his frustration as he reached the dugout by throwing his helmet, but then, to add insult to injury, he slipped and fell down the remaining dugout steps, which further bruised his ego.
Fortunately, Pierzynksi was not physically hurt, and stayed in the game for the remainder of the Rangers 5-2 victory.

Your browser does not support iframes. The second inning of Saturday's game was a mess for Texas Ranger A.J. Pierzynski. Not only did the veteran get thrown out at home plate trying to score on a ball that didn't leave the infield, but while throwing his helmet in the dugout in anger, he also lost his footing and wound up tumbling down the stairs.Humble pie doesn't taste so good.
It was a rough second inning for Texas Rangers catcher A.J. Pierzysnki on Sunday. Pierzynski attempted to score on a ground ball from third but was thrown out at home by Mariners infielder Brendan Ryan. Pierzynski upon returning to the dugout, threw his helmet and subsequently fell down the remaining dugout stairs. Pierzynski was not physically injured in the fall and stayed in the game.
First, Texas Rangers catcher AJ Pierzynski was tagged out at home plate, but we're laughing at him falling down the dugout stairs right after.
There are some people that don't like to be touched. There are some that don't like it when who they likely perceive as a 'young kid' goofs off to much. After this past weekend I think we have proof that Texas Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre is both of those!
Like here when the team's young shortstop, Elvis Andrus, decides to mess with his head!
DON'T YOU DARE
After the Rangers defeated the Seattle Mariners last night by the score of 5-2, the players were celebrating in the middle of the field and it appears that infielder Elvis Andrus decided to have some fun teammate Adrian Beltre. Watch as Elvis touches the head of Beltre with his glove and causes the Rangers third baseman to throw his glove at him: (Courtesy of CBS Sports)
Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre really hates people touching his head.
Remember this from two weeks ago?
Well, Beltre's head-related freakouts came into play again on Saturday night, with near disastrous results for Elvis Andrus.
Good lord. Keep in mind, this is on the field during a conference on the mound. Robbie Ross then got Kyle Seager to pop...
One of the keys to success in baseball is a good "clubhouse vibe." Players spend eight to nine months of the year with each other creating, in most cases, a family-like atmosphere.
Perhaps one of the reasons the Rangers are having success this season is their clubhouse is, almost literally, a family, complete with a pair of "siblings" that take joy in messing...
The most bizarre pet peeve in all of baseball is Texas Rangers 3rd baseman Adrian Beltre‘s complete meltdown when anyone touches his head.
We covered this story last year showing highlights from Beltre’s time with the Red Sox and Rangers flipping out on his teammates who touch his head.
Well, you can add this video to that collection as Beltre freaked out on teammate Elvis Andrus...
Someone please tell me what is the big deal about Adrian Beltre’s head? It’s become a fetish to several of his teammates for years. When he does something remarkable you tend to see players touching (we call it SUCTION) his head. Does touching his head give good luck? By the look of Beltre’s reaction, he does not tend to think so. Well, that’s the wrong way...
Nelson Cruz hit his 12th homer of the season, David Murphy drove in three runs and the Texas Rangers roughed up Seattle ace Felix Hernandez in a 5-2 win on Saturday night, handing the Mariners their eighth straight loss.
Derek Holland continued to pitch well in Seattle, easily getting the better of the matchup against Hernandez. Holland (4-2) went 6 2-3 innings, striking out a season...
PHOENIX (AP) -- Didi Gregorius hit a tying homer off Yu Darvish in the eighth inning, Cliff Pennington singled home the winning run in the ninth and the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Texas Rangers 5-4 Monday night for a doubleheader sweep.
Darvish matched his career best with 14 strikeouts but allowed a run after the sixth inning for the first time this season. Gregorius also had...
The Texas Rangers have ace Yu Darvish lined up to pitch the second game of a doubleheader, and they'll look to continue their hot hitting on the road as they take on the Arizona Diamondbacks in that twinbill Monday.
Darvish will be looking to tie for the major league lead with his eighth win when he opposes Trevor Cahill in the evening. The Diamondbacks were supposed to start...
PHOENIX (AP) -- Tyler Skaggs, just called up from the minors, struck out nine in six scoreless innings and the Arizona Diamondbacks held on to beat the Texas Rangers 5-3 in the opener of a doubleheader on Monday.
Skaggs (1-0), who lost out to Patrick Corbin for Arizona's fifth starting spot in the spring, was recalled from Triple-A Reno after scheduled starter Ian Kennedy cut...
The Texas Rangers have lost a season-high three straight and now must face a red-hot Brandon McCarthy.
McCarthy has been stellar over his last three outings for the Arizona Diamondbacks heading into Wednesday night's matchup in Arlington.
Texas (32-20) was swept Monday in a doubleheader at Arizona after falling 4-3 in 13 innings at Seattle on Sunday.
"(Sunday) we had...
