The Los Angeles Angels received a pretty major scare during their game against the Texas Rangers Tuesday evening when All-Star infielder Tommy La Stella was helped off the diamond after fouling a ball off his knee.
While there was initial optimism that La Stella avoided a major injury, that’s no longer the case. According to multiple media reports, the first-time All-Star suffered a fractured right tibia and will miss at least the next two months.
#Angels INF Tommy La Stella has right tibia fracture. Out 8-10 weeks. OF Brian Goodwin also to DL with right wrist contusion.

This is some horrible news for both the player and his team. La Stella was just named to his first Midsummer Classic after posting a tremendous first half of the season. He was hitting .304 with 16 homers, 44 RBI and a .856 OPS at the time of the injury.
