Coco Crisp's power barrage continued and on Monday he clanked his daily home off the foul pole in left a two-run shot that helped claim a share of first place in the AL West for the A's. Oakland's 4-2 victory over Texas gave the teams identical records at 79-58 with 25 games to play. "This is a big series" A's outfielder Brandon Moss said before the game. "When you play Texas in April and June you try to play down the significance - but this is September and there's one game difference. It's important for the division standings and for the momentum we've had - we've been playing really good baseball against really good teams." Crisp's homer was his third in three games and his seventh in 12 games. He has 17 for the season a career high. He had to leave Monday's game however when he whacked a foul ball off his right leg in the sixth inning. He remained in momentarily with two strikes but struck out to end the inning and then did not come out for the seventh. The A's announced that Crisp had left the game with a right shin contusion. Yoenis Céspedes also went deep a shot to left in the second inning and his third homer off Derek Holland in 12 career at-bats. Céspedes had gone 10-for-50 with 16 strikeouts over his previous 12 games and he hit .216 in August the worst month off his career. A's starter Dan Straily walked Mitch Moreland to open the fifth then gave up a homer to David Murphy Murphy's first in more than a month. That tied the game - until Crisp's blast in the bottom of the inning. Straily went five innings and gave up three hits and three walks with four strikeouts.
