The Toronto Blue Jays acquired infielder Luis Valbuena from the Cleveland Indians for cash considerations. Valbuena had been designated by assignment by the Indians on Nov. 18. He appeared in only 17 games for the Indians last season, batting .209 with one home run in 43 at-bats. Valbuena's best season came in 2009 with Cleveland, when he batted .250 with 10 homers and 31 RBIs in 103 games.
