The Toronto Blue Jays
(69-87) beat the New York Yankees
(90-66) 6-0, last night at the Rogers Centre
from Toronto, Ontario, Canada
W - Brandon Morrow
(9-7), L - Ivan Nova
did not have a good game and he probably won't the make playoffs starting rotation. He went 4.2 innings, allowed 6 hits, gave up 4 runs, walked 2 and struck out 4 batters.
had three hits including a double.
had two hits lncluding a double as well.
No Pitching, No offense, no nonthing. This game was extremly boring to watch and there wasn't any interest even following while the offense looked liked they couldn't hit a ball in their life.
Although, you have to give Brandon Morrow credit for doing a great job shuting down the Yankees lineup, but his counterpart Ivan Nova doesn't belong in the starting rotation come playoff time.
He hasn't been that good this season. I don't trust him from the get go and the Yankees management has to do right thing which is not put him in the starting rotation when the playoffs begin.
- Their next game will be Friday night, when they play the Toronto Blue Jays in the Rogers Centre at 7:07 pm on YES.
- Pitching matchup will be RHP Hiroki Kuroda (14-11, 3.34 ERA) vs Chad Jenkins (0-2, 4.24 ERA).
BEST OF MAXIM
From Wallace Matthews:Last October, when the New York Yankees needed one more win to extend their season another round, they asked Ivan Nova to get it.
This October, they may not even invite him along for the ride.
Thursday night, facing yet another golden opportunity to create some separation between themselves and the Baltimore Orioles, the Yankees turned to Nova.
Last night Ivan Nova pitched himself out of the postseason rotation. That is, if there IS a postseason rotation. The division lead is now down to just 1 game with 6 left to play.It was Nova's second bad start in a row after the good start he had when he returned from the disabled list. After the game Nova was asked what he thinks he needs to do to fix things. His response...
Ivan Nova has been known to be a flamethrower. But apparently, the Yankees pitcher is literally throwing fire. During Thursday's game against the Blue Jays, Nova fired a 93 mph fastball that tore right through catcher Russell Martin's glove. Despite tossing the heat, Nova suffered his eighth loss of the season after giving up six hits and four runs through 4 2/3 innings of...
The Yankees are trying to bust open the pennant race. On Thursday against the Toronto Blue Jays, Ivan Nova busted Russell Martin's catcher's mitt. The glove is currently the second Mitt that's busting in a race right now.The webbing of the glove seems to have been completely torn apart. Maybe the Astros have been playing with broken gloves all year.If that ball...
New York Yankees 0 — Toronto Blue Jays 6
Morrow shut down bats while Nova could not in tonight’s 6-0 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays.
Ivan Nova may have been auditioning for a postseason start in tonight’s game and it went bad quick. Nova could not finish 5 innings in tonight’s start. Nova’s first slip up came in the 3rd inning when the 1-out walk came back to haunt...
BRINGING THE HEAT
Your browser does not support iframes. Here's something you don't see everyday. The play happened Thursday afternoon in the Yanks' 6-0 loss to the Blue Jays in Toronto.Seen here is New York Yankees right-hander Ivan Nova delivering a fatal blow to the glove of teammate and catcher Russell Martin. The pitch appears to sail straight through the webbing of Martin's mitt...
Brandon Morrow and two relievers combined on a five-hitter, pitching the Toronto Blue Jays to a 6-0 victory over New York on Thursday night that trimmed the Yankees' tight lead in the AL East.
Edwin Encarnacion had three hits and three RBI for Toronto. Brett Lawrie hit a two-run homer and J.P. Arencibia added a solo shot as the Blue Jays handed an assist to idle Baltimore, shaving...
Last year in the playoffs, Ivan Nova was asked to his job in game 5 of the ALDS against the Detroit Tigers and he couldn't get the job done in the biggest game of his major league career.
There is now way this guy should be in the starting rotation or on the postseason roster. Period. He has been that awful this season and he showed last night why he doesn't in playoff...

Now other than being embarrassed about not scoring a single run, the Yankees are practically handing the...
TORONTO -- The Toronto Blue Jays are certainly relishing their role as playoff spoilers. The Jays got seven shutout innings from Brandon Morrow, and Brett Lawrie and J.P. Arencibia homered as Toronto took the first game of a four-game series with the AL East-leading New York Yankees 6-0 Thursday. It was welcome news for the idle Baltimore Orioles, who moved within a single game...
