On Monday the Braves acquired left handed reliever Scott Downs from the Los Angeles Angels. Downs, 37, has been one of baseball’s best relievers since moving to the bellpen full-time in 2007. This season Downs has a 1.84 ERA and a 1.26 WHIP in 43 games. In order to get Downs the Braves gave up right handed pitcher Cory Rasmus, younger brother of Blue Jays outfielder Colby Rasmus.
