The St. Louis Cardinals and Washington Nationals are heading back to Washington D.C. with the NLDS knotted at 1-1. Among the story lines in the series has been the struggles of the Nationals high profile center fielder Bryce Harper. Harper was just 1 for 5 in the Nationals Game Two loss on Monday afternoon and struck out four times. In the first two games of the series, Harper is just one for ten with six strikeouts. When asked by Hall of Fame baseball writer Rick Hummel of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch after Monday's game if he was anxious at the plate, Harper responds with a very snide comment for the writing legend. Don't ask Bryce Harper if he's anxious at the plate. Even if you are Hall of Fame baseball writer Rick… — Dan Hellie (@DanHellie) October 9, 2012 In response to Hummel's question, Harper replied, "You think I'm over anxious? You think so? Maybe you should be the hitting coach." Harper has been the ce...

Don't call Bryce Harper overanxious, bro. Harper was asked by a reporter following Monday's Nationals-Cardinals game whether he's a bit overanxious at the plate, and the inquiry didn't sit well with the Washington outfielder. The 19-year-old, who has shown in the past that he can be a bit cranky when it comes to dealing with reporters, immediately asked...

To commemorate his first postseason win, a great Bryce Harper read

Thanks to Tyler Moore’s pinch-hit 2-run single late in the game, the Nationals took a 1-0 series advantage over the St. Louis Cardinals. I spent a good part of the evening last night reading Jerry Crasnick’s long story about Harper’s journey through his first big league season. It’s a great read. “I sit on the aisle and he sits on the aisle on the plane, so I talk to him...
