One hundred hits, and it's still June. Melky Cabrera is having a historic year by Giants standards.

When he doubled off C.J. Wilson in the Giants' 12-5 loss to the Angels on Tuesday night, it gave him 100 hits in his first 291 plate appearances. When Willie Mays got his 100th hit in 1958, the Giants' first year in San Francisco, he needed 295 plate appearances.

These are good times for Cabrera, who moved into the top three among NL outfielders in All-Star voting, according to the latest results announced on Tuesday. Cabrera knocked Milwaukee's Ryan Braun out of the top three, and Braun received the most NL votes in 2011.

Only three San Francisco outfielders have been voted into the All-Star lineup by fans: Mays, Kevin Mitchell and Barry Bonds.

That's good company. All MVPs.

Also in All-Star results, Buster Posey is tops among catchers, still leading St. Louis' Yadier Molina. Pablo Sandoval trails only the Mets' David Wright among third basemen.

And it's somewhat surprising that the Brandons are being getting love. First baseman Brandon Belt is fourth, shortstop Brandon Crawford fifth.
