What will happen to the Detroit Tigers season if  Jhonny Peralta gets a 100 game suspension for his part in the Biogenesis scandal? Peralta is enjoying a break-out season with the Tigers. If the team loses their star short stop what impact will this have on the Tigers bid for post season play? Peralta is hitting the ball well this season and he is playing solid defense as always. If he is cheating he doesn’t deserve to stay in the game. Peralta has been linked to the scandal and it is not known what actions if any will be taken. The Tigers would certainly miss Peralta’s produciton if he is indeed suspended, the team is holding onto a 2-1/2 game lead in the A.L. Central and they head to Cleveland to battle the Indians the former team of Peralta soon. If they are forced to play without Peralta for the remainder of the 2013 season, they will certainly loss one of their most productive players. Peralta’s batting average is .307 and he has 53 RBI’s so far this season. If the Tigers lose him for the rest of the season, they will be losing one of their key players. They already have to sit Cabrera down who is suffering back problems. To lose Peralta and Cabrera, it is certainly going to leave a giant hole on the line-up card for Jim Leyland. It could impact the Tigers post season hopes.
