Take 30 seconds and vote in our Week 4 survey (plus see survey results from Week 3)! With 13 of Thursday’s 22 probable starters rated above average and four topping 20% above average, it looks like a good day for pitching. Here are some thoughts on Thursday’s matchups: Dan Haren has one of the highest ratings we’ve seen this season in his home start against Kyle Kendrick and the Phillies. Atmospheric conditions give him a small boost. Pittsburgh will toss Brandon Cumpton at Cincinnati, which rates just about league average. Cumpton has very good control and high ground ball rates, so he could surprise with a line 6 IP, 2 ER, 4 K — decent enough if you’re in a deep league. I would bench Jose Quintana at Detroit unless you’re in a 16-team league or deeper. For Wednesday’s rankings, click here. For an explanation of how these rankings were calculated, click here. These rankings account for atmospheric conditions with data provided by BaseballVMI.com. While Park Factors account for the yearly average air density at a ballpark, they don’t account for game-by-game changes, which BaseballVMI.com tracks. With this data, our rankings are now more accurate than ever! If you’re interested in exploring what BaseballVMI.com can do for your fantasy roster, check out their fantasy package. How to Read These Rankings Rating: 100 is average and higher is better IP/K/ERA/WHIP: Projected stats for the game in question W%/L%: Likelihood of the SP picking up a Win or Loss PTS: Projected points total in daily DraftStreet leagues (where we play) Trouble viewing the embedded table?
