Delmon Young is playing like a number 1 overall pick, finally. He’s shown flashes of the talent that the Rays saw when they drafted him, but never for an entire season – outside of 2010.

Talent was never the question with Young. It was always “Is he going to kill somebody?”

We all remember that warm summer day in Pawtcuket when he decided to throw his bat at the umpire like a tomahawk. Maybe he had just watched “The Patriot” one to many times? Either that or he was ******* crazy. There were only two options.

Then at the beggining of this season he went all “Adolf Hitler” on a group of unassumming people who were just trying to give a homeless man some money. Not exactly what you want your starting left fielder doing but the Tigers stuck by him.

Luckily this isn’t about Delmon Youngs intense hatred of umpries and Jewish people. This is about how he’s been tearing the cover off the ball lately. To the tune of 6 for 14 with 5 runs, 4 HR and 6 RBI in his last 4 games.

Not too shabby at all, Dr. Mengele.

So ride Young while you can. Who knows the next time an umpire or Hacidic Rabbi is going to rub him the wrong way, but for right now he’s Hansel hot.
