I know. The topic of the day for the Indians is the losing streak, and the inability to score any runs between the first inning Saturday and the ninth inning Sunday. It is about the Indians not pulling the trigger on a deal, any deal to obtain a middle of the order bat. Nobody wants to hear about something the Tribe did off the field.

That’s fine, but it still has to be written.

My family had the opportunity to take in Rock-n-Blast Saturday night from the Indians’ Social Suite. It was a great night for baseball, unfortunately Choo’s home run in the first was about the only thing we had to cheer about until the fireworks started. I’ve been to games during regular fireworks nights, but had never attended a Rock-n-Blast before. I will say definitively that we will schedule them every year going forward.

The Indians spent big bucks on this show. And it was worth every penny. The attendance on Friday was just a whisker under 34,000 and Saturday was just over 36,000. Those are the second and third largest draws so far this season. Whether those totals will help recoup the cost, I’m not sure, nor do I know if the presenting sponsors cover the cost. But I do know that 70,000+ people were treated to a great fireworks, video, laser and music spectacular.

The Beatles theme was great. Plenty of great songs to use, plus visual references and plenty of color references for the show. The video alone set to the music was spectacular. Even without the pyrotechnics.

The only shows I’ve seen that compare were at Walt Disney World and at Thunder over Louisville.

I would highly recommend grabbing tickets for next season’s Rock-n-Blast when the promotional schedule is released.
