MILWAUKEE After relieving Juan Perez in the top of the seventh inning for one out, Brewers reliever Tim Dillard lasted just a couple of pitches in the eighth inning. Not because Brewers manager Ron Roenicke pulled him out of the game, but rather, Dillard was ejected from the game by home plate umpire, Hunter Wendelstedt. With a 1-0 count to Twins shortstop Jamey Carroll, Dillard nailed Carroll with the next pitch in a 16-2 game that was well in the Brewers' favor. Wendelstedt told Brewers manager Ron Roenicke that he knew Dillard had too much command for the beaning to be accidental. Brewers catcher Jonathan Lucroy refused to comment on the sequence of events after the game, but Twins manager Ron Gardenhire told reporters that the throw was payback for hitting Brewers center fielder Nyjer Morgan earlier in the game. "Lucroy told Jamey that they were throwing at him because we threw at Nyjer Morgan," Gardenhire said. "I have no idea where that came from. We were just trying to get out of that inning. We pretty much stunk up the field today. We didn't need to throw at anybody." Dillard was replaced with reliever Kameron Loe, and with Loe entering the game cold, the Brewers allowed two more runs to Minnesota before winning, 16-4. Follow Ryan Kartje on Twitter.
