Had some time to get the daily picks done tonight while watching that **** show the White Sox put on in the 9th and 10th innings against Baltimore. Yuck.

Onto the picks for April 17th.Fantasy Baseball Daily Picks Guys I Like
SP Ian Kennedy
One of the more underrated pitchers in baseball, Kennedy is coming off a season in which he had a 2.88 ERA and a WHIP of 1.09. His strikeout numbers don’t wow you, but they’re passable. This year Kennedy is 2-0 with a 2.65 ERA, though his WHIP and BAA are higher. Still, facing Pittsburgh, who he is 1-0 against in two career starts with a 1.64 ERA and 0.57 WHIP, makes Kennedy a solid start option that you can get cheaper than CC Sabathia, Dan Haren, Josh Johnson, and others who don’t seem as safe.
C Yadier Molina
Though Molina doesn’t have a great history against Johnny Cueto (.709 OPS in 26 at bats), he’s red hot right now. Molina is 5-11 with a HR, 5 runs, and 6 RBIs over his last three games and comes at a discount in comparison to the top catchers.
C Jonathan Lucroy
If you want to go even cheaper at catcher, Lucroy is a decent option. He’s hitting .364 early in the year including a home run his last time out.
Note: I’m going with Lucroy myself. Hey, if you’re going to pay the premium for Matt Kemp, you have to cut back somewhere!
1B Paul Konerko
Konerko continues to produce, knocking in two more runs on Monday night. He’s hit safely in every game this year and is on pace for 162 RBIs. At the price, tough to beat that kind of consistent, professional production. Plus, he gets to face a lefty.
Paulie makes the list of daily picks again!
SS Mike Aviles
I’m not crazy about the matchup because Colby Lewis is a very solid pitcher, but it’s tough to beat the value Aviles is providing right now. He’s producing and can help you pay a bit more at other positions.
3B Michael Young
I continue to really like Michael Young. He’s less expensive than the top third basemen and, like Paul Konerko, just keeps on hitting. He is at .366 for the year, with 9 RBIs, and has hit Jon Lester well in his career (.931 OPS).
OF Michael Bourn
I like leadoff hitters in general simply because they get more at bats. I like Bourn specifically today because he has a .357 lifetime average against Johan Santana and has multiple hits in two of his last three games.
OF Delmon Young
Chuckle about his defense, but Young can still hit a bit and is in the middle of a powerful offense. He also has done very well against Bruce Chen in his career, with a .545 average in 11 at bats including a homer.Guys I Don’t Like
SP Dan Haren
Haren has been a good pitcher for a long time, and his matchup with Oakland seems good, but with a 6.97 ERA, 2.13 WHIP, and ridiculous .417 BAA through two starts, I’m going to wait for Haren to have a good one before plucking him to be my pitcher in a daily league.
2B Dan Uggla
I’d stay pretty far away from Dan Uggla. He’s not off to a particularly hot start this year, again, and he is 1-21 lifetime against Johan Santana.
That’s about it. Didn’t come across too many guys that I really don’t like today, so I didn’t want to force it.
